Our Story.
What makes us different.
Built by families. Growing with families.
Mt Gravatt Community Kindergarten began with local families who saw a need in their community and came together to make it happen.
More than 60 years later, that community spirit continues.
The families may change. The children may change. But the belief that a community can come together to create something special remains at the heart of our kindergarten.

What is a community kindergarten?
A community kindergarten is a little different.
We are not-for-profit
Our kindergarten exists for the benefit of the children and community, with funds reinvested into the kindergarten.
We are parent governed
Our Parent Management Committee is made up of families who volunteer their time to help govern and shape the kindergarten.
We are family supported
Families contribute through volunteering, working bees, events, fundraising, skills and ideas.
We are connected to our place
Our natural environment and connection to Country are central to our identity.
At Mt Gravatt Community Kindergarten and in this special place called Kaggur Mabul '
Land of the Echidna' we acknowledge the traditional custodians of these lands.
We share and care for this space with past, present and future families who explore, discover,
play, learn, laugh with friends and connect with nature on this special mountain.
