Our commitment to child safety.
The safety, wellbeing and rights of every child are at the heart of everything we do.
Mt Gravatt Community Kindergarten prioritises children’s safety and wellbeing through strong governance, policies, and procedures.
Our leaders and staff demonstrate a daily commitment to protecting children, fostering a culture where safety and wellbeing are central to all practices.
We are dedicated to safeguarding children and adhere to the National Model Code for Early Childhood Education and Care.
Our philosophy guides ongoing reflection and continuous improvement in our daily practice.
We believe children have the right to:
• feel safe and secure
• be treated with dignity and respect
• have their voices heard
• make choices and express their ideas
• participate in decisions that affect them
• learn in an inclusive environment
• develop at their own pace
• be protected from harm.
Children are active participants in our kindergarten community. By listening carefully to children and valuing their ideas, we help them develop confidence, agency and a strong sense of belonging.
Keeping children safe is a shared responsibility. Educators, families, volunteers and our Parent Management Committee all play an important role in creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive community.
At Mt Gravatt Community Kindergarten and in this special place called Kaggur Mabul '
Land of the Echidna' we acknowledge the traditional custodians of these lands.
We share and care for this space with past, present and future families who explore, discover,
play, learn, laugh with friends and connect with nature on this special mountain.
