Non-profit organisation - parent involvement
Mt Gravatt Community Kindergarten is a non-profit organisation that has been serving the local community for more than 65 years. The kindergarten is run by a voluntary management committee elected annually from the current cohort of parents.
As a non-profit association the kindy relies on voluntary contributions from parents with management, fundraising and general maintenance to ensure the focus of our government funding can be directed towards quality programming that benefits all children.
Family involvement in the kindergarten also fosters a strong sense of community and responsibility, ultimately benefiting the educational experience of the children attending.
We value the experiences and expertise of all our families. As a parent this means you will be asked to contribute in various ways, such as:
-
Volunteer to be on the executive management committee: roles include President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer
-
Volunteer for a supporting role.
-
Volunteer to be a social and / or fundraising champion.
-
Volunteer to assist at a working bee for general maintenance (once/term).
-
Volunteer to assist at a Bunnings sausage sizzle.
-
Volunteer at our community events: welcome picnic, bush dance.
-
Volunteer with any other specialised skills you may have to offer.
